Parks and Trails

The City of Leawood parks system consists of six parks, one greenway, and an 8.2 mile trail system. Throughout the various parks, residents can find playgrounds, tennis courts, soccer fields, picnic shelters and other recreation facilities. Leawood Parks and Recreation also operates an Olympic size 50-meter pool.

Leawood City Park and Tomahawk Park are connected by Tomahawk Creek Trail, a 4.1 mile paved path meandering along Tomahawk Creek that is part of the county-wide trail system. Along the way, you will encounter 3 ponds, stocked with catfish, bluegill and bass, and several picnic areas. Trail maps and nature guides are available at the Parks Office at City Hall or the Prairie Oak Nature Center.
