Diane Stoddard, City Administrator
Diane was appointed the Leawood City Administrator in January 2023. Under the Mayor and City Council’s direction, she assists in managing all City affairs, coordinating and supervising daily operations to ensure the City’s priorities and actions align with City Council’s vision and goals. Diane has nearly thirty years of municipal management experience serving five cities in Kansas. She previously worked as Assistant City Manager for the City of Lawrence, Kansas from October 2007 through January 2023, including serving as Interim City Manager from late May 2015 through late March 2016. Previously, Diane served as Deputy City Manager in Manhattan, Kansas. Diane has also worked for the cities of Ottawa and Lenexa in Kansas. She is a lifelong Kansan and received her Master’s in Public Administration and undergraduate degrees from the University of Kansas. Her husband Brian is a high school history teacher and they have two sons. Diane served as President of the Kansas Association of City/County Management in 2015. She served as Vice President for the Mountain Plains Region of the International City-County Management Association from September 2020 to September 2023.
