Leawood Police Department

ChiefMeier2007On behalf of the men and women of the Leawood  Police Department I welcome you to our website.

I hope that you find the information on the site useful and relevant. If you have questions, concerns, or suggestions please contact us.

The 84 members of the Leawood Police Department are committed to providing the highest quality of police service possible. As the city continues to grow and develop it is our desire and responsibility to work with the community in addressing their needs and concerns. One of the ways we reach out to the community is through our Citizens Police Academy. This 10 week program is offered to individuals who live or work in Leawood. Attendees will be exposed to the various units within the Police Department and will develop a better understanding of police practices and procedures. If you would like to learn more about this program please visit this website or contact Cpl. Ken Whiteside at 913-642-5555 ext.127.

Currently citizens are able to retrieve copies of their accident reports from this site. In addition we have recently added a feature to our site that provides real time crime mapping. By providing this data, citizens now have the opportunity to see the types and frequency of crimes in their neighborhood.

We are committed to serving the citizens of this community with the high level of police service they have come to expect and that they deserve.

John M. Meier
Chief of Police
