Citizen's Police Academy
The Leawood Citizen's Police Academy provides citizens the opportunity to experience first hand what it's like to be a Leawood Police Officer. For 10 weeks, participants will learn about the police department and, through a variety of practical exercises, be able to see for themselves what being a police officer is like. Meetings are held on Wednesday nights and cover a wide range of topics.
The Citizen's Police Academy also gives individuals the opportunity to develop relationships with police officers as well as foster a partnership with the Leawood Police Department. These relationships can lead to a better understanding of the police and how they serve the community.
