OCTOBER

17      See what the Leawood Lion’s are “cooking up” this year at the annual

18      Lion’s Club Pancake Days.  11:00am-7:00pm Friday and 7:00am - 7:00pm Saturday,at the Leawood Community Center (lower level of Leawood City Hall) 4800 Town Center Drive.

 

NOVEMBER

7       Celebrate “60 Sensational Years” with family and friends! Join us as we gather in the Lodge at Ironwoods Park to reminisce about 60 years of Leawood history. Food, drinks, entertainment and more will be part of the “60’s Scene” on this fun-filled night.  Dress in the attire from your favorite decade and get ready to “boogie”. 6:30- 10:00 p.m. Call for transportation.  $-  $25 per person or $50 per couple.

 

8       “I Love a Parade” and so will you! We are going to pull out all the stops as the parade meanders from City Park street to 117th Street, along Tomahawk Creek Parkway.  There will be floats, clowns, Copper the police mascot and even a fly-over by a couple of “old-time” airplanes, courtesy of KC Ghost Squadron. Event starts at 10:00am.  Following the parade, the event will move to Park Place (117th and Nall) with Ice Skating at the new Ice Rink, Clowns, Face Painting, Skating Exhibition, Caricature Artist, Food, Children's Music, featuring Dino O'Dell, Prizes and more from 11:30am - 4:30pm!

 

24      A Finale to Remember! City Hall will be the scene for the Holiday Lighting Ceremony where we will officially conclude the year’s celebration of the City’s 60th Anniversary. Caroling, refreshments, and a short fireworks display, will close the 2008 festivities and kick-off the holiday season and Leawood’s 61st year!  Event starts at 6:00pm.
