The City Clerk’s Office is responsible for:
    Contract
  • Preparing all City Council Agendas and packet material.
  • Maintaining all City records, proceedings and ordinances.
  • Provides information pertaining to City Council proceedings to general public and other City Departments.
  • Issuing cereal malt beverage, drinking establishment and liquor store licenses.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
The Leawood City Hall is located at 4800 Town Center Drive, Leawood, Kansas 66211, and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., except certain holidays. The main phone number is 913-339-6700. Click here for Driving Directions to City Hall.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
The City was incorporated as a First Class City on December 31, 1998. The current population of the City of Leawood is 30,200. The City of Leawood operates under a Mayor-Council form of government. The City is served by a Mayor and eight [8] Councilmembers, which makes up the ‘Governing Body.’ The City is divided into 4 Council wards. There are 2 Councilmembers in each ward. One seat in each of the four wards is up for election in 2004. Elected Officials, including the Mayor serve for a four [4] term. The City election is held on the first Tuesday in April of each even numbered year.

Potential candidates who are interested in filing for office must be 18 years of age, a registered voter of the County and also must complete appropriate forms provided by the City Clerk’s Office. The filing fee is $10.00. A separate $35.00 report fee is required, also which is forwarded to Topeka. Payment must be made in cash or 2 separate checks.
